Hi!

My name is Michael Schultz. I have the privilege of serving as the pastor of Faith Lutheran.

There probably shouldn't be too many things that surprise us in this world.  Ever since the original Fall into sin (Genesis 3), it's a far from perfect place. And yet, as soon as sin had reared its ugly head, there was God, addressing it, resolving it for the people he still dearly loved. The forgiveness of sins through Christ is the ground beneath our feet.

At Faith Lutheran Church, more than anything else, I appreciate the fact that I have been given the opportunity to let people hear and know that Jesus is the foundation of their life. He is the way and the truth and the life. His promises keep us grounded. No matter what happens, we have peace in Jesus.

I would love to have the opportunity to talk to you about the peace we have through faith in Christ.

A little about me

Both my wife Karen and I grew up in Michigan, in a couple small towns between Flint and Lansing. Karen has taught for many years in Lutheran schools and I have been serving as a pastor since 1989.

We have enjoyed living in the places where I have served as a parish pastor—Flagstaff, AZ, and Lawrenceville, GA. I had a ten year sabbatical (if you can call it that) when I served as the project director for our church body's most recent hymnal: Christian Worship (2021). During those years we lived in Wisconsin.

I am grateful to be back in the south. We love the culture and the climate, but do miss seeing immediate and extended family members up north. So our trips out of town are nearly always devoted to seeing family around the country. That would include our three kids and eight grandkids (most recent arrival not pictured).
